About Andrea
Life takes you in all directions, changing course many times along the way, yet it always has a way of bringing you back to what’s true in your heart. Andrea always had two obsessions in life — horses and drawing — and that’s where her heart always led her. Out of high school, she was at a crossroads between artist and athlete, choosing to be an athlete first and trusting she would return to art when she was ready.
For many years, Andrea enjoyed life as a professional athlete, eventually finding her way back to becoming an artist. Following her heart, she began sculpting in 2000 and started mentoring under Dawna Wilson. In 2022, feeling drawn to oil painting, she mentored under Doug Swinton and began her obsession with oil painting.
The way she sees the world is deeply intertwined with her love for horses and art, harmonizing the two by approaching her horsemanship artistically and her art classically. As both her worlds come together in one space, she continues to share her wisdom and creativity in a way that feels true and grounded in a historical and classical approach.
For over 20 years, she has lived with her husband and two kids, nestled away on 40 acres in the foothills of Alberta. With the support and space from her family, she continues to pursue her passions. Living in the countryside, Andrea owns and runs a show jumping facility, Alpine Show Jumpers, on the same property where she transformed the old farmhouse into a beautiful and unique art studio in the fall of 2025, Alpine Fine Art.
A space that now holds her life with horses and her evolving art, both continuing to grow.
